WalletConnect links FxWallet to a DApp that runs somewhere else, such as a website on your computer. You scan the DApp's QR code with FxWallet, then approve its requests on your phone. You don't need WalletConnect for DApps you open in the **Discover** tab: FxWallet connects to them directly.

WalletConnect works with EVM networks and Solana.

## Connect

1. On the DApp, choose **WalletConnect** when it asks you to connect a wallet. It shows a QR code.
2. In FxWallet, open the **Wallet** tab, tap **Scan** and scan the QR code. If the QR code is on your phone's own screen, take a screenshot, then choose it with **Album** on the scan screen.
3. Check the request: the DApp's name and website, the wallet and networks it will use, and the **DApp permissions** it asks for.
4. Tap **Connect**.

> **Warning**
>
> Connect only to DApps you trust. The name and website on the request come from the DApp itself, and FxWallet can't check them, so a fake DApp can show a real one's name: make sure the QR code came from the site you meant to open. FxWallet shows riskier permissions in orange, such as "Signing unreadable raw data".

The DApp is connected to the wallet you were using when you scanned, and keeps using it even if you switch wallets in FxWallet. To connect another wallet, switch to it first, then scan a new QR code.

## Approve or reject requests

When the DApp asks you to sign a message or send a transaction, FxWallet shows the request with the DApp's name and website. Check what you're signing, the network and the fee, then tap **Confirm**, or tap **Cancel** to reject it. A request you don't answer in time is cancelled.

> **Danger**
>
> If FxWallet warns that a contract "has been identified as risky" or is "uncatalogued", don't confirm unless you're sure the DApp is genuine. A malicious approval can let someone take your tokens.

## See and end connections

While the current wallet has a WalletConnect connection, a WalletConnect button floats over the app. Tap it to see the connection, then tap **Disconnect**. If several DApps are connected, you see **Connected DApps**, where **Disconnect All** ends them all.

Disconnect DApps you no longer use. A DApp can also end the connection itself, and FxWallet then tells you it was disconnected. To connect again, scan a new QR code.

## If it doesn't connect

- **Current wallet does not support WalletConnect**: the current wallet only supports one network. Switch to another wallet.
- **Connection timed out, please try again.**: the QR code may have expired. Refresh it on the DApp and scan again.
- **"FxWallet does not support chains which Chain ID is ..."**: the DApp asked for a network that FxWallet doesn't support.
- **Invalid WalletConnect link**: the QR code isn't a WalletConnect code.
- **WalletConnect is initializing. Please check your network or try again later.**: FxWallet is still starting WalletConnect. Check your connection, wait a moment, and scan again.
- "This DApp requires features that aren't supported yet": FxWallet can't connect to this DApp.
- **The paired wallet is no longer available. Please reconnect.**: the wallet you connected is no longer in FxWallet. Connect again with a wallet you have.
- **Connection expired**: connections can end after FxWallet updates. Scan a new QR code from the DApp to connect again.
